VT ChoicePoint Internship Program
| ChoicePoint Inc., through its foundation, has made a generous $60,000 gift to the Pamplin College of Business to support social entrepreneurship and technology education at Virginia Tech. |
Program Goal
"To use the positive power of the human touch and information technology to create a better world - revealing the benefit of humanity underneath the technology to benefit people in need."
Overview of ChoicePoint Internship Program
Internship opportunities will be focused on providing technology-based solutions for local and regional not-for-profit organizations. Examples of such solutions may include, but are not limited to: building effective websites, creating or maintaining databases of organizational information, and establishing technology assessment and implementation plans.
Projects will typically be solicited through contacts with such local organizations as VT-Engage (the service-learning office) and the VT-YMCA. These projects will be evaluated for their feasibility and appropriateness by faculty members in the Business Information Technology department. Because of the technological focus of the internships, participants will primarily be selected from students majoring in Business Information Technology; however, other students from within the Pamplin College of Business who have the appropriate skills may also be eligible for consideration.
